This is serious stuff shared with passion and fun

Over 170 people connected over their shared vision of a Social Care Future at the second More Than A Provider event, held on 28 March in London.

It was Certitude’s turn to host the event and bring together people we support, their families, carers and communities with a whole range of organisations and community groups who provide social care support. The event was focused on how we connect and contribute together to ensure that people are living a “Gloriously Ordinary Life”.

As well as an opportunity to share talents and passions including; print making, jewellery, sewing, singing and making music, people also shared their hopes and dreams of what mattered to them.

People brought their ideas and experiences of building community connections, relationships and friendships. There were workshops from Camerados on creating a public living room and a giant snakes and ladder game from the Dimensions Council exploring the pros and cons of neurodiversity.

People shared their thoughts about the event on twitter:

After a rousing sing- a-long with the Connect and Do choir, the event was drawn to a close with Certitude’s CEO, Aisling Duffy urging people to spread the word amongst friends, family and colleagues to continue the momentum towards the shared vision of a #SocialCareFuture.

The next event will be hosted by United Response and is taking place in Bristol at the MShed Museum on Tuesday 23 May 2023. Find out how you can get involved here
