Our heartfelt, eternal thanks goes to our incredible marathon runner and absolute hero, Jana Jilkova, who this weekend smashed her target time and fundraising goal, raising life-changing funds for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs in London and taking on the challenge of a lifetime.
Nothing better invokes the blood, sweat and tears idiom better than running a marathon. For many it’s the apotheosis of human endurance and not without good reason. This Sunday 40,000 people ran 26.2 inspirational, exhausting miles through our amazing city to complete the London Marathon. Run since 1981 it’s raised an eye watering £1 billion to support charities. We’re delighted to say that this Sunday, Certitude joined their ranks, represented by our wonderful runner Jana, who has been training tirelessly for months (despite a serious ankle injury).
Weaving her path through London amongst the human tide, passing world famous landmarks along the banks of Mother Thames and stopping the clock at 4:09, Jana demolished her target time of 4:30. Jana’s been putting in the hard yards for months, and raised a staggering £2,678 to help Certitude deliver life changing support. Jana has two boys with learning disabilities, and the work Certitude does is close to her heart.
There’s still time to donate to Jana’s cause. Every penny you donate will help us deliver support to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs across London.
