Express Yourself

Our Big Connect event showcased a cacophony of music, art, crafts and creative writing all in one room. It was a wonderful experience.

And it doesn’t stop there. Together with our creative network, this year we have supported people to exhibit art, design and sell clothing, take part in live music, theatre and dance performances, create radio shows and so much more.

Through our support at The Gate and our Connect and Do creative workshops, we’re able to offer a whole variety of ways that people can continue to develop their passion in art and crafts, creative writing and performing arts. Our Sonic Sound Club has been shortlisted for a national award for innovative ways of supporting people with profound and multiple learning disabilities to explore musical expression.

This flagship programme of creative activities continues to show that together, in partnership with our local communities, we are so much more than a provider of traditional social care support.

I want to say thank you to our funders City Bridge Trust, our many community funding partners and all of our fundraisers who have completed a fundraising challenge or donated to our Support a Skill campaign. Much of our creative support wouldn’t be possible without this additional community funding.

We’re also fortunate to have strong partnerships with the creative community, including Café Otto, the Brit School and the Old Vic as well as the many collaborators who work with us – artists, makers, musicians and writers who share their expertise in workshops and activity sessions.

In our continued pursuit of a Social Care Future where we can all live in communities doing the things that matter to us, we hope you will agree that supporting creative expression is invaluable for the people we support and the communities we live in.
